Our Story
Our love story began in August of 2018 on a climbing trip together to the Gunks in Mohonk New York. We took my old 1987 Dodge B250 camping with Beth and Alex Smith. It was Meggie's first time climbing outdoors. We left for the journey as friends and came back dating.
We didn’t know it at the time, but that weekend quietly set the tone for everything that would follow adventure, trust, patience, and learning how to move together through unfamiliar terrain.
We had an incredible period of growth and joy at our home in Paoli. We learned to grow veggies from seed, and how to shape a house into a home. Statts Electric grew and Meggie focused on her education. Any free time we had was spent hiking with the dogs, riding motorcycles, and RV camping, most often in Ithaca, our favorite place to go.
On our search for deeper meaning in life, we kept finding ourselves drawn to Finger Lakes. We love Ithaca with its live music, fantastic hiking, waterfalls, and a grounded, organic focused community that we align so strongly with.
In July of 2024, we found our dream farm house in Trumansburg New York. Trumansburg is an adorable town with a tight knit community. It had the school district for the kids we're hoping with join us soon enough, the tallest waterfall on the east coast, and was only 10 minutes to the boat launch. We're finally moved in and settled and the longer we're here the happier we are. The community has welcomed us in and we love every moment of it, even in the frigid winters when we huddle up around the masonry stove.
